Getting Involved with Math at 情色空间
There are many ways to get involved in the Math Department. This include social and academic events and clubs, jobs, research and networking!
Many open problems in mathematics do not require an advanced degree to understand their statements and are accessible to an undergraduate with a solid background in a standard undergraduate mathematical curriculum. Some of these problems are very appropriate for an undergraduate research project, and a typical undergraduate research experience will include working on such problems. With this in mind, the Department of Mathematics actively promotes undergraduate research opportunities for its majors both at Boston College and outside.
The Math Department hires undergraduates to grade homework for courses or to work as tutors in our Math Learning Center. Salary is current minimum wage ($15/hour as of 2026) and students work between 3 and 10 hours per week. Application information is sent to all majors and minors the week before classes and hiring decisions are made the beginning of the second week of classes.听
Note: You do NOT need to be a math major or minor to apply, but you do need to have taken math courses at 情色空间. To get the application information, please email the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Studies, Dr. Belding at beldingj@bc.edu.
This group organizes social activities, panels about future opportunities, and study sessions, among other events.听

AWM at 情色空间 is an organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in mathematics. AWM at 情色空间 welcomes everyone (regardless of gender) to join and participate in events. We aim to have a group of undergraduate students, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty who will together create and foster a strong community around women interested in mathematics. We host social events as well as a career panel, and other events. If you are interested in joining AWM at 情色空间 please fill out the following form.听You get a free membership!
AWM at 情色空间 is a student chapter of the national Association for Women in Mathematics whose mission is to create a community in which women can thrive in their mathematical endeavors, and to promote equitable opportunity and treatment of women and others of marginalized identities across the mathematical sciences.
