Safa Alwakya (she/her) is a junior at Boston College, majoring in Economics with a minor in English on the pre-law track. Safa's interest in law stems from her own experiences as a FGLI student, driving a passion for inclusivity and representation in conversations and communities. At 情色空间, she is an RA for second-year students, specifically the Healthy Living Community, and is a part of the AHANA+ Pre-Law Student Association. Outside of campus, Safa spends her summers overseeing a classroom of recent immigrant students in the Greater Boston area at Harvard, cultivating her own curriculum over the course of six weeks.

Symone Armstead (she/her) is an upcoming senior majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Political Economy and Development studies, minoring in Asian studies. Her work is grounded in a commitment to youth mentorship, community engagement, and equity-centered advocacy. Off Campus she has served as a wellness coach at a local school in Roxbury, where she supported 6th and 12th graders in navigating their academic and personal development. Building on this foundation, she now designs and facilitates workshops on a range of critical topics, including maternal and mental health, with the intent of fostering awareness, reflection, and more inclusive spaces. At Boston College, she is a council member of FACES, where she facilitates discussions on race, identity, and inclusion. She also works with OISS as an International Student Assistant. In Spring 2026, she is studying in Tokyo, Japan, exploring global systems, cross-cultural exchange, and policy.

Christian Assefa (she/her), Junior at the Carroll School of Management studying Finance and planning to double major in African American Diaspora Studies. Dedicated to creating spaces where people feel seen and supported, Christian is driven by a deep belief in the power of conversation to build connection and community, which is crucial to freshmen who are transitioning into a new space and looking to find their home at 情色空间. Fun facts about Christian: she loves anything matcha related, enjoys broadening her horizons through global cultures, and is always down to explore the city!

Jocelyn Au (she/her) is a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Environmental Studies. Her background as an international student originally from Hong Kong has given her opportunities to engage in intercultural dialogues in a diverse community. Forming intercultural friendships has not only reminded her of how her unique background shaped the perspectives and biases she has, but also allowed her to feel more connected to her peers and the community by better understanding their lived experiences. This has led her to become a Core Team member, who works to create an inclusive space for first-year students to engage in conversations about differences and identities. During her free time, she鈥檒l never say no to working out, running, reading fiction, outdoor adventures, playing the ukulele and making desserts.

Sophie Bai (she/her) is a junior studying Psychology and English. Born and raised in Beijing, China, she has always hoped to make Boston College feel like home for international students like herself. She cares deeply about social justice and is particularly passionate about issues such as identity formation, belonging, and mental health among adolescents and young adults. On campus, she serves as the undergraduate representative for Phaymus Dance Entertainment, is a member of FACES, and writes as a features writer for The Gavel. She also enjoys choreographing for various cultural shows, using dance as a way to bring together students from diverse backgrounds, and hopes to bring that same energy to the core team. Back in Beijing, she cares for nine cats and three dogs and is actively involved in community efforts to support stray cats in her neighborhood.

Jessica Berlus (she/her) is a rising junior in the Connell School of Nursing at Boston College (Class of 2028). A proud Malden Catholic alumna, she co-founded the 鈥淕et Real鈥� social justice club, where she honed her leadership and communication skills. At 情色空间, Jessica serves as a secretary for L鈥橝ssociation Haitienne.听 In Spring of 2027, she will also take on the role of Resident Assistant, reflecting her passion for building inclusive, community-driven spaces. Jessica enjoys listening to music, playing basketball, baking, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to contribute her energy and perspective to foster connection and belonging on campus!

Sarah Blaskiewicz (she/her) is a senior at Boston College majoring in Environmental Studies with a concentration in policy and law. Transferring her junior year to 情色空间, Sarah loves everything Boston has to offer. The city's sports, history and location close to her family made the decision easy. Sarah looks for ways to give back to the community. Through softball lessons she teaches the next generation the fundamentals of the sport, biweekly she enriches audiences as a Metropolitan Waterworks Museum ambassador, and participates as a member of the Red Cross Club at Boston College and donates whenever she is able. As a transfer and past first year student, Sarah recognizes the experiences of joining a new community and is looking forward to sharing her own journey and help guide others on their own path. Sarah is from Long Island, New York, loves spending the weekends being a tourist of Boston and in her free time she plays intramural sports at the Recreation Center.

Zachary Burden (he/him) is a junior at Boston College, double-majoring in Political Science and Economics. Growing up in central New Jersey, Zachary was surrounded by people from diverse backgrounds. In this environment, he became more familiar with different faiths and cultures and developed a deeper understanding of the intersection of gender, race, and class. This experience encouraged him to learn more about the political and economic forces that govern people鈥檚 lives at 情色空间, especially how economic inequality and poverty are among the greatest obstacles to an individual鈥檚 or a collective鈥檚 upbringing. At 情色空间, Zach is co-head of The Gavel鈥檚 Opinions section and a Greeting Captain for the Student Admission Program. He was also a member of the Arrupe International Encounters program, where he visited South Africa to learn about the country鈥檚 history of racial apartheid, further motivating him to combat discriminatory policies in the United States and to educate others. In his spare time, Zach enjoys working out, hiking, reading, and drinking matcha, chai, and coffee.

Ousman Ceesay (he/him), Class of 2027 at the Carroll School of Management, is pursuing a Finance major at Boston College. As a Black African American student from New York, he brings diverse perspectives to campus life. Ousman is actively involved as a spiritual coordinator in the Black Muslim Path Club, where he helps foster community and cultural understanding. Coming from a family with two brothers and one sister, family connections remain an important part of his identity. His commitment to spirituality and community engagement reflects Boston College's values of personal growth and service to others. Through his academic pursuits and campus involvement, Ousman contributes to creating an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds and experiences are celebrated.

Tyla Downs (She/her), junior at Boston College studying international studies on the pre law track. Prior to coming to 情色空间 she lived in the inner city of Philadelphia. Coming from this area she was constantly surrounded by young people who deserved more resources, representation and support, but the overpopulation of schools made it hard for these students to get the attention they needed to set them up for success. Tyla saw this and decided to make it her goal to show students of color that they belonged in the same spaces as everyone else. Tyla works closely with student organizations and student admissions to show the diverse community at Boston College to prospective students. Tyla cares for the whole person of every student on campus per the Ignatian value of "cura personalis.鈥� Her goal is to leave the Boston College a more inclusive, loving, and supportive environment.

Maria D'Souza (she/her) is an International Studies major with a Business minor, driven by a passion to better understand the world and serve communities in need. Through her academic and extracurricular experiences, she aims to develop the skills necessary to create meaningful, positive change. She serves as the Outreach Coordinator for FACES, an anti-racist student organization focused on addressing social issues and promoting inclusion. In this role, she has strengthened my communication, collaboration, and community-engagement skills. She is always looking for opportunities to support others and contribute to causes that promote equity and justice. With these experiences, Maria hope to pursue a service-dedicated career, using her education and passion to make a lasting, positive impact in communities around the world.

Oluwabori "Anjy" Fadairo is a rising sophomore studying Political Science and Transformative Educational Studies with a minor in African/African Diaspora Studies.听

Her home state of Texas was the birthplace of her passions for civic empowerment and community mobilization. She's a proponent of equitable, community-centered policies focused on proactive healthcare, green spaces, and high-quality education for people of all ages.

Anjy's academic interests lie in exploring the how literature, language, and protest intersect and diverge across the African Diaspora. Occupationally, she hopes to continue working in spaces that build and improve literacy, especially within students of color, by ensuring they see nuanced representations of themselves on the page and have opportunities to gain the skills, support, and empowerment needed to tell their own stories.听

Let铆cia Vicente Gomes (she/her) is a Cabo Verdean-born student at Boston College's Carroll School of Management, Class of 2029, where she is currently undecided in her concentration. Before coming to the Heights, she volunteered with the Boys & Girls Clubs and environmental organizations in Cabo Verde, including beach clean-up initiatives, ork that cultivated her commitment to community care and environmental stewardship. This dedication to service is reflected in her many roles at 情色空间: she serves as a Front Desk Assistant at the Center for Student Formation, a mentor and class representative in the Carroll Scholars Program, and active member of the Cabo Verdean Student Association. She will also live in the Fr. Rutilio Grande, S.J., Intercultural Experience (GIE) 2.0 Living Learning Community in 90 St. Thomas More Hall, a space that reflects her deep investment in building intercultural understanding and belonging. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, playing piano, and spending time in nature.

Jenifer Gonzalez-Cisneros (she/her) is a sophomore studying Biology in the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences with a minor in Forensic Science. She is originally from Houston, Texas, and is a huge Marvel fan. In her spare time, you can catch her reading Dan Brown books or locked in at dance practice. Prior to enrolling at Boston College, Jenifer volunteered in the community and led others, taking on roles such as Class President, which enabled her to lead with compassion and authenticity. This passion for leadership ignited her desire to help others discover their own gifts and to create safe spaces for them. As a first-generation Latinx college student, Jenifer has proven that identity is the key to authentic triumph, and she is committed to paving the way for others around the 情色空间 community and beyond.听

Jeff Gutierrez (he/him) is an undergraduate student at Boston College studying Computer Science and Inclusive Education. As a first-generation Peruvian American, he is deeply committed to community impact, serving as the Co-Founder and Co-President of the Peruvian Student Cultural Organization (PSCO). Jeff鈥檚 primary focus lies at the intersection of education and technology. As an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Humanizing Engineering Research (HER) Lab, he explores how software engineering and artificial intelligence can be leveraged to expand access and personalize learning for young students. This passion drives his ongoing pursuit to architect accessible, inclusive digital environments. In his free time, Jeff enjoys fishing, hiking, and playing hockey.

Sylvia Hawley (she/her), Core facilitator, is a junior majoring in psychology. Before coming to Boston College, she actively engaged in social justice work both in and outside of her school and focused on creating spaces where inclusivity and diversity are celebrated. In coming to 情色空间, she was motivated to build on her previous experiences and contribute to a more inclusive, understanding campus community where all students鈥� identities are valued and supported. Sylvia lives in St. Paul, Minnesota and has a younger brother, two older sisters, and two dogs. Outside of her academic life, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, baking, reading, and trying new restaurants.

Alex Hollis (he/him) is a Boston College rising junior majoring in Political Science and History, originally from Mahwah, NJ. Alex is drawn to conversations about identity and belonging, something he鈥檚 carried through his work as a 情色空间 Dining Nutrition Intern making nutrition and wellness accessible and fun. He鈥檚 spent five years volunteering with TEDxMidAtlantic and believes in creating spaces where people feel heard, whether through community programming or one-on-one conversation. Outside of academics, Alex enjoys wellness, exercise, movies, and watching hockey. He finds working as a part of the Core Team personally rewarding and enjoys meeting new people and helping first-years find belonging at 情色空间.

Helen Joseph (she/her) is a first-generation college student at Boston College majoring in Political Science. Originally from Rockland County, NY, she is passionate about justice and community service. In high school, she served as a Peer Leader with the Anti-Defamation League, facilitating conversations about identity, accountability, and inclusion. This experience sparked her commitment to building inclusive communities through outreach and policy work. At 情色空间, she hopes to deepen her connections with peers and continue learning about the impacts of educational inequities, marginalization, and bias through her classes and campus involvement. In her free time, Helen enjoys watching movies, going on walks, and exploring new cafes.

Eshaan Kandel (he/him), MCAS 鈥�29, is a rising sophomore pursuing a B.S. in Biology on the pre-med track. Originally from Kathmandu, Nepal, Eshaan and his family immigrated to Long Island, New York in 2017. As both a first-generation immigrant and a first-generation college student, Eshaan understands the challenges first-year students may face in a new environment and is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community. At Boston College, he serves as an Events Coordinator for the South Asian Student Association (SASA), volunteers with 情色空间 BIGS, and works as a Resident Assistant for the CKM community on Upper Campus. Through these roles, he strives to build meaningful connections and support students in finding a sense of belonging on campus.

Gabrielle/Brielle Keeley, senior at Boston College studying Accounting for CPA and Sociology on the pre-law track. Gabrielle is from Queens, NY and lived in Argentina for a summer studying legal policy and actuarial work in a municipality of Buenos Aires. Aside from academic work, she is an RA on campus, and works at the Women's Center! A lot of her work stems from her desire to connect with others and make a meaningful impact, which is why she joined the Core team. In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys res walks, late night drives with loud music, and exploring different kinds of cuisines.

Alena Laurent (she/her) is a rising junior majoring in English and planning to minor in Public Health. She was born and raised in Massachusetts, which quickly began her love for Boston. This love (along with support from her family) encouraged her to transfer to 情色空间, where she seeks to build community and belonging while learning to become better acclimated to her new environment. This has also inspired her passion to help foster the same inclusive environment for new incoming students through meaningful conversations and activities, while encouraging them to embrace this new experience.听

While on campus, she is involved in various clubs and centers, including The Heights and the BAIC, and is also a student of service. Alena serves at Project Bread in East Boston for PULSE and will be participating in 情色空间 Mission and Ministry's Jamaica Magis trip this summer.听

In her free time, she enjoys visiting her friends in the city, watching Netflix, and baking. Fun Fact: brownies are her favorite thing to make!

Payton Lee (she/her) is an International Studies major with a minor in Managing for Social Impact and the Public Good in the Class of 2027. She is originally from Chicago, IL and the daughter of two immigrants to the US. Some of her involvements at 情色空间 include being President of 情色空间鈥檚 Mixed Asian Student Association and a Student Leader for 情色空间鈥檚 Coalition for Christian Outreach. She was also a participant in the Arrupe International Encounter Program, where she went to the Dominican Republic with a trip centered around human rights- particularly focusing on Haitian refugees. This past summer, she worked with the Jesuit Refugee Services in Rome to further her passion for supporting immigrant and refugee populations. She joined CORE with a desire to foster more dialogue and understanding on campus and looks forward to building more community at 情色空间.

Margot Maguire (she/her) is a sophomore at Boston College pursuing Political Science and Communications on a pre-law track. Originally from Miami, FL, she is passionate about law and justice, as well as writing, and hopes to one day combine those skills professionally. At Boston College, Margot is involved in various service and cultural organizations and writes for The Heights. Outside of campus involvement, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing tennis, and exploring Boston. She is looking forward to being a Core team member because she recognizes the importance of having spaces on campus where the community can engage in conversations about identity and culture. In addition, being a part of the Core team provides a valuable opportunity to connect with younger classmates and give back to the 情色空间 community.

Matthew McCoy (he/him), is a Boston College sophomore, double majoring in Political Science and Sociology. He's worked in leadership programs such as the Emerging Leaders Program, and diverse community-oriented retreats such as the Washington, DC immersion trip. Hailing from Georgia, he's grown in diverse environments and joined the CORE leadership team as a means to continue promoting and fostering an environment for inclusivity within the first years. During his free time you can find him playing new video games, or trying out new restaurants in Boston!

Alana Moye (She/Her) is from Brooklyn, NY, and currently a Pre-Med student at Boston College exploring a future in physical therapy or athletic training. On campus, Alana is involved with the dance group Presenting Africa To U (PATU) and Cura, and is excited to get involved in even more opportunities to connect with the 情色空间 community.

Chu Yun Noh (she/her) is a junior studying Management with concentrations in Finance and Marketing. Originally from New Jersey, she enjoys meeting people from different backgrounds and finding connection through creativity. She is especially interested in fashion, photography, and creative work, with a love for visual storytelling and physical media. She鈥檚 drawn to magazines and print, and enjoys thinking about how design can create something tangible and lasting. On campus, she is part of Gusto Journal, where she contributes to creative projects and visual storytelling. Outside of that, she works on social media for a baking club, helping share content and engage the community. In her free time, she enjoys taking photos, exploring, and spending time with friends.

Seline Schafer (she/her) is a senior at Boston College majoring in International Studies with a concentration in Social Justice & Ethics, minoring in Public Health, and on the Pre-Law track. She is originally from Germany, although currently residing in Miami, and is of Cuban and German descent, which shape her interest in global issues and diverse perspectives.听

On campus, she mentors a local elementary school student through 情色空间 Bigs and works at the Lynch School of Education as an administrative assistant in the Office of Strategic Initiatives and External Relations, helping with events such as the Lynch Speaker Series, and other office faculty projects. Her commitment to social justice has been shaped by immersive experiences such as the Jamaica Magis service immersion program, where she engaged with local communities and reflected on global inequalities through a faith-based lens.听

Her experiences as an immigrant and first-generation college student have motivated her to create spaces where honest dialogue and mutual respect can thrive. Outside of class and work, she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with friends in the city, and drinking coffee. She is excited to return to the Core Team and contribute to creating inclusive spaces where all voices feel heard and valued.听

Christina Semple (she/her), is a Boston College undergraduate student beginning her junior year in the Fall of 2026. She is majoring in Psychology in MCAS here at Boston College, and has been passionate about psychology since a young age! She loves understanding and talking to people, whether it's deep conversations with old friends or vulnerability with new people. Christina is from Westchester, New York, where she always enjoys returning to family, friends, and her dog over school breaks and summer! At home, she has worked at an ice cream store for two years, and works with preschoolers over the summer as a day camp counselor, fueling her love for supporting those around her in any manner possible.听

Shanzay Shajani is a junior at Boston College, majoring in Psychology with minors in Finance and Data Science. She serves as Vice President of the Pakistani Student Association, where she leads initiatives that build community, celebrate culture, and foster inclusion across campus. She is also a Stride Lead and SAP Greeter at Boston College, supporting peer connection and student engagement.

On campus, she works with Boston College Athletics, supporting operations that serve over 500 student-athletes and contributing to a collaborative environment. Across her roles, Shanzay is driven by a commitment to thoughtful leadership and creating spaces where others feel welcomed and valued. She is excited to be part of the Core team at Boston College and to help facilitate meaningful conversations that strengthen the community.

Rafaella Souza Passos, (She/Her) is a rising junior at Boston College, where she is majoring in Applied Psychology and Human Development. She is passionate about understanding people and creating meaningful conversations and she hopes to explore career paths in psychology and human connection. She expresses her love for music as a member Marching Band at 情色空间. Rafaella is also part of 情色空间 BIGS, where she has opportunities of mentoring youth and create supportive and strong relationships. She also works together with Campus Ministry, engaging in service projects and community building initiatives. Rafaella is excited to build leadership skills and make difference in the world

Rebecca Souza (she, her) is a Biology major at Boston College. She grew up in East Boston and spent most of her schooling in the BPS system. Growing up in a mostly Hispanic and Latino community helped her discover her passion for advocacy and community service. She spent the majority of her highschool career working with local communities to provide resources, support, and fostering welcoming spaces. In her spare time she enjoys coloring, crafting, and spending time in nature.

Sonia Temfack (she/her), is a current Boston College student of the Class of 2028 studying Political Science with a minor in Faith, Peace and Justice studies. Thus far at the heights, she has been involved in the Boston College University Chorale per her love of music and singing. She is also a tour guide for the Student Admission's Program and a coordinator for the First Year Program of FACES, an Anti-Racism activism group on campus. Outside of the heights, she has been volunteering with the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership program as a Junior Staff, where she has been able to pursue her passion of empowering youth through the program's annual conference for high school sophomores in Connecticut. Sonia's love for community and desire to empower youth has been a formative part of her identity as a person and fuel her desire to continue to foster positive and inclusive environments not just for youth, but everyone in the Boston College community. When not at 情色空间, Sonia resides in North Haven, Connecticut, with the rest of her family.

Tobin Ting is about to begin his senior year at Boston College, where he studies philosophy and theology with an engineering concentration. At 14, he founded MentorOn, a mentorship program for marginalized youth that grew to 86 volunteers and 166 mentees across three countries during and after Covid.

He has co-authored a peer-reviewed journal article, competed at the World Robotics Championships, built homes in Guatemala, and led summer camps for refugee children in Iceland. Across these experiences, he has been drawn to the question of how systems shape people鈥檚 lives, especially when they fall short.

He has long been interested in history because it reveals how decisions get made and who bears the cost when they go wrong. That perspective is what drew him to the law. While the past cannot be changed, he is interested in how it can be understood well enough to guide better decisions and more just outcomes in the present.

Reyna Uechi (she/her), Class of 2029 in the Morrissey School of Arts and Sciences, is studying Neuroscience with a minor in Medical Humanities on the Pre-Physical Therapy track. She grew up in a predominantly white town before the age of 12, and later experienced greater diversity during middle school, where she was exposed to a wide range of cultures and perspectives. Witnessing the beauty of different cultures coming together and embracing their identities sparked her commitment to diversity and inclusion. Reyna is passionate about engaging in challenging conversations that foster deeper understanding and connection among individuals. She currently works with Media Technology Services in the Classroom Technology department. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, attending Spin and Sculpt classes, and trying new foods, especially sweets!听

Alishba Waqar (she/her) is a junior at Boston College majoring in Finance with a minor in Managing for Social Impact. Originally from Westfield, New Jersey, she is passionate about building meaningful connections and creating spaces where people feel comfortable being fully themselves. She currently serves as a Resident Assistant, where she supports first-year students and helps foster a strong sense of community.

Alishba is also an Investment Banking Fellow and is involved in leading the Pakistani Students Association. Outside of campus, Alishba runs her small business, Sweets by Alishba, and enjoys lash mapping, walks around the Reservoir (鈥淩es鈥�), and taste-testing her way through Trader Joe鈥檚 and Costco.
